I usually shoot beach themed weddings, mostly on the Cape..sometimes on the South Shore….but when one of my favorite clients referred Lynne & Brian to me for their Boston wedding I just had to be excited for something new! Lynne and her bridesmaids were so down to earth & fun..and gorgeous! I started the day with them at Lynne’s parents home in Tewksbury…then off to get married @ St. Mary’s in Brookline…what a gorgeous day, what a BEAUTIFUL Bride! After the wedding ceremony we headed off to the Boston Public Gardens for the formal wedding party & family photographs. Then through the city of Boston we went…street photography is SO much fun! Lynne & Brian hosted a perfect reception at The Lenox…and they are living happily ever after!

Stefanie & Vincent are such a sweet couple! From our first meeting via facetime, I was super excited to photograph their Cape Cod wedding on July 9! Since they live in Texas, we kept in touch with emails and phone calls and finally we enjoyed a glass of wine together at Trevi at Mashpee Commons before the big day!
On the wedding day, from the moment I walked in the door at the house the girls were getting ready at I knew it was going to be a super fun filled day! The music was playing, everyone was smiling and I found my new favorite bridesmaid…Ashlynn! She was pouring mimosas for everyone and even offered me one! Stefanie was a gorgeous bride in her lace wedding gown with her long flowing veil. Stef and Vince chose to see eachother before their vows, they had a romantic first look on the dock at Wychmere. We took most of the family & wedding party formal photos on the dock where we were sheltered from the wind before the ceremony. The ceremony was on the beach, where Stefanie became Mrs. Riley, surrounded by the love of family & friends.
The whole day was magical…..but my favorite part of the day was their first dance! They NAILED it!
Enjoy some of my favorites from their summer wedding at Wychmere Beach Club on Cape Cod! Be sure to read the details from the bride at the end of the story.
From the Bride:
Where & How did you meet?Vincent and I originally met at a Boston Bruins hockey game. He was actually visiting a mutual friend that I went to high school with and who he worked with on a oil and gas drillship. He came up here to ski with our friend at his cabin in VT and while he was here, they had in their plans to go to a hockey game. I had actually planned on going to the same hockey game with some friends. Our mutual friend knew I was going and he accidentally forgot to bring his hockey jerseys for the game when they went skiing, so he called me and asked if I could swing by his house to grab them for him. I didn’t mind and his house was on the way, so I picked up the jerseys and when I got into Boston I met them at Halftime Pizza across the street from TD Garden. Thats the first time I met him; it was very quick because we had to get in to watch the game but when we caught eyes I could feel the sparks. Since our group of friends all had different seat sections, in between the periods we would all meet up. During the last period, I saw Vincent standing alone while our friend was off to the side with his girlfriend. It didn’t seem like he was having much fun so I asked him if he’d like to watch the rest of the game with me. He then watch the end of the game with me as I tried my best to explain hockey to him (since he was from Texas and had no clue). Funny part is, I couldn’t tell if he was really paying attention to my explanations. Then at the end of the night we parted ways. We all went for breakfast the next day, and Vincent changed his flight to extend his visit so we could see another longer. We had a few dates and formed a very strong connection. Overtime, we kept in touch through FaceTime and traveling back and forth to MA and TX visiting another as we fell more deeply in love.
Where do you live?Austin, Texas
What inspired you to have a Cape Cod wedding?A large part of my childhood was growing up on Cape Cod. There’s just something about the ocean that makes life so sweet and peaceful. I’ve always imagined myself marrying my prince charming by the ocean with the wind in my hair (which I definitely got), the smell of the sea and the sand between my toes. I was lucky because Vincent never really had place or preference in mind, he just didn’t want it too overly raw or rustic so it worked out perfectly!
Why did you choose / What was your favorite thing about your reception Venue? We choose the Wychmere Beach Club mostly because it took our breathe away. We choose to have the cocktail in the Hydrangea room and our reception in the Harbor room. Vincent liked it because if was classy and elegant, and not as raw as some other venues. I liked it because I loved how beautiful yet simple it was; tall the windows, driftwood floors, and the high ceilings with elgant chandlers. The rooms hardly needed any dressing up, it was absolutely stunning! They also had a beautiful beach to for us to get married on and to top it off the food was a-mazing! Other than how absolutely beautiful and breathe taking the venue was, my personal favorite part about the Wychmere venue was the team. They were all above and beyond good at what they do. We had Lindsay Grimes as our wedding coordinator and during the whole process of wedding planning she was excellent at communicating and explaining things detail to detail. On the wedding day, all of the staff members were so helpful and ran everything very smoothly. Nothing was forgotten about and Vince and I hardly had to think, it was so easy to just be in the moment and enjoy our day!
What are some of your favorite memories of your wedding day?The kissing seal of our marriage of course was one of the best parts! It was so amazing to share our love and commitment to one another on the beach with many loved ones around us. Our first look on the dock was very exciting too, it was the moment we build several things up for. To have that moment together before the ceremony was so special and it gave us feelings that will never be forgotten. I loved our reactions, our expressions and the love and comfort felt all over during that moment. Also the first dance was very special; we both worked so hard and we were so nervous and no one else knew about it so it was something just between us. During the dance we got to share special moments together just dancing, and if we were lost or if we messed up, we had one another to through it all– our first dance was the highlight to our evening!
What were some special touches / details for your wedding day? Please include your vendors for all of these details.Shoreshotz Photography by Amanda Considine ; was amazing, my favorite touch about this vendor was how she was full of energy, and super fun and outgoing. Our other photographer, Jannelle was great too! Amanda & Jannelle made the day so much more fun and organized by taking charge of things. All of the photos were absolutely amazing and they captured all the perfect moments including our first look, and our first dance! Amanda & Jannelle even managed to get some beautiful photos with the crazy wind during and after the ceremony.
Bukare.net Films by Emre Durmaz; he was absolutly great and not bad for his first time on Cape Cod! He did a wonderful job coaching us and getting creative perspectives for our wedding video, capturing things in other perspectives piecing it together making it our own. It was beautiful.
Photo Booth by Entertainment Specialist; so much fun! everyone absolutely loved it and we got some fun candid photos of all of out guests throughout the night. We had a gold glittery background to match our wedding colors.
DJ Danny Walsh; was fabulous he knew just how to set the tone of the party and when to play what. He timed our entrance song, “Something Just Like This” by Coldplay and The Chainsmokers perfectly along with a flashing strobe light. Followed by that, we went right into our first dance song “From The Ground Up” by Dan and Shay, which was our absolute favorite part surprising everyone. He played two father daughter songs for the bride and her dads, “I Loved Her First” by Heartland and “Walk With You” by Edwin McCain. He also help us customize the mother son dance, “All to you” by Scott Keo and “Love Runs Out” by One Republic so Vincent and his mom was able to boogie down in the middle of their song.
All About Flowers by Judy Fligg; she helped with a lot of the details of our wedding, she setup and supplied all the floral arrangements, place cards and decor. The centerpieces were one of my favorite parts by her, they had mixed greens with ivory roses, blush garden roses, small blooms of hydrangea, blush lisianthus, ivory ranunculus, ivory spray roses, and blush wax flower. They were beautiful. The flowers were in short and tall gold mercury vases and on the sides were taller glass footed candle holders with floating candles. There was also 2 – 9” pillar candles in glass and 6 gold mercury votive candles around the center. She made several signs, including one that shows the location and distance from where all guest traveled from near and far for the wedding and “the shoes here, vows there, love everywhere” by the ceremony.
New England Country Rentals with Becky Nye; she provided us many items that wrapped into our wedding decor and table setting; from the wine glasses, ivory metallic napkins, and gold rim oversized plates. We absolutely loved the zen sofa lounge area that we rented through her and the and our white washed custom table with our settee for the sweetheart table.
Delicious Desserts by Lisa Raffael; she made us a beautiful three tier partially naked cake. It was topped with fresh flowers and lightly speckled with gold. The cake flavor was white with raspberry frosting and buttercream filling– it was perfect for a beach summer wedding.Hair by Lisa George; Lisa was so easy to work with and communicate with. She set me up with Jess as my hair stylist and who did an amazing job! I have a lot of hair to work with so I give Jess a lot of credit! She was sooo patient and super cool about it all, even when I started to be a picky bride. She was awesome. Donna also came and did some of the girls hair which turned out amazing too, everyone was so happy with their hair.
Makeup by Kim Richards; Kim was really fun to work with and very helpful. She matched me up with Lynn for my makeup artist and who was so sweet. Lynn is very good at what she does and also very patient. She made me and the girls look absolutely stunning. Lynn matched my color perfectly and gave me the perfect glow and glam that I was looking for!Special items:Custom corn hole game- made by my cousin Craig Andrea, in a family owned custom wood shop my Papa had started. All by hand he measured, built, sanded and stained it with a classic walnut stain and satin finish. He added and painted a monogram ‘R’ for Riley, then put white tube lighting around the edges and under lighting so we were able to use it at night at our bonfire before the night before the wedding. This game was one of our favorite weddings gifts. It’s so special to have especially because Craig made it himself. The giant jenga was an idea from my experiences in Texas. Yard games are very popular at restaurants and bars and I loved the idea that people could write and draw on the blocks send messages we could read for fun later on. We always take it out when we get together with family and friends and it adds to our amazing chain of memories.
What were your wedding colors for bridesmaids dresses and flowers. Any special wedding party gifts / favors?Bridesmaids wore a long Sorella Vita blush chiffon gown and their bouquets were mostly white and ivory with a pop of blush wrapped with a blush ribbon. The brides bouquet were white, ivory and blush with ivory ribbon. For the girls party gifts they received gold accessories; the MOH with a chunky gem necklace and gem chandler earrings for the rest of the girls. They also got light blush silky robes with lace trim and champagne glasses with their names on each in gold. The groomsmen wore the menguin Amsterdam charcoal gray suit with matching blush ties and dark brown shoes. The party gifts for the groomsmen were crazy fun patterned socks, and a wooden wall mount bottle opener. Vincent gifted me a beautiful cz tennis bracelet to wear and I gifted him custom made cufflinks for his suit and a cute coozie from a boutique in ATX. For the wedding favors we had handmade shell heart ornaments made that said “With Sandy Toes & Salty Kisses, We Became Mr. and Mrs. July 9, 2017” and on the top of the heart was a net bow tie and sand dollar.
